This week's TechTalk looks at multimedia technology in the classroom. Stop motion video is nothing new, but the app Stop Motion Studio has made a ground-breaking revelation in creativity in the classroom.

Stop Motion is an excellent app with many unique features for creating fantastic stop-action movies. As well as a frame-by-frame editor, they make it readily suitable for any stage who wants to bring a story to life. Lorenz, Green & Brown (2009) study evaluated how multimedia graphic organiser software and explained how it impacted the pre-ordering process for primary school students. The activity results revealed that all students were enthusiastic about using multimedia applications and that the computer graphic organiser activity received more verbal enthusiasm than the traditional paper and pencil activity.

Stop Motion Studio is a fantastic tool to improve the creative environment in any school! Stop Motion Studio is a strong and simple-to-use programme that provides ongoing project-based learning and collaboration possibilities. While allowing students to bring to life their original idea (SMS, 2023). It quite explanatory making quite easy for students from stage 1-3 to grasp easily, this ideal for primary students as the easier use of technology the more efficient the lesson is for the students. This boost creativity in the sense made as it allows for new way to present idea but also be able to create ideas in a unique way.

The app gives them a fun and exciting way to demonstrate their grasp of various subjects. This programme is ideal for visual learners since it enables users to use animation to communicate their thoughts and simplify complicated ideas (Chioran, 2016). For example, in the classroom, requesting students recreate any historical event they are focusing on in class; students may also use this app's ability to present the subject/topic they are learning. This technology would help teachers make sure students achieve code HT4-10, which states, selects and uses appropriate oral, written, visual and digital forms to communicate about the past (NESA, 2012).

This app allows students to present new appropriate forums for written or visual tasks, which allows for a simplistic way to communicate ideas the video below shows and example created by the author (Chioran, 2016).The best part of the technology is it is free, and if funding allows, teachers are able to buy the premium version, allowing people to grow their creativity while developing teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities (SMS, 2023).

This is the TechTalk for this week !

Hi imijin,

This was such an engaging and insightful blog post that I really enjoyed reading. You have provided a well thought out and clear description of Stop Motion Studio and how it can be used to foster students' creativity in the classroom, especially for primary school students. I really like your link to the syllabus and think it would be a great activity for students. However, I would have liked to see you mention the pedagogical approaches that are involved in Stop Motion.

Thanks,

Hi Imijin,

This was an awesome and an outstanding blog to read. You have provided a great description of Stop motion video, and how it can be used to foster creativity. Your connection to syllabus link is terrific, and you provided specific examples on how stop motion can be used during lessons, which is very helpful.

You mentioned the advantages of using stop motion video which is great, maybe you could also mention the limitations.

Thanks,

Djoumana Aoun

Hi Imijin,

Well done, another great blog. Stop Motion looks like an amazing technology to incorporate into the classroom and so simple. I love that student can create a movie and bring their ideas to life, so cool! You have provided a great example of where students can use this technology and what syllabus outcome is outlined. In the future, if you provided what stage this would be beneficial for would be helpful for teachers looking to incorporate this technology. Also, what are some of the limitations to using this technology? I love that this technology is free, making it so much more convenient for teachers to utilise in the classroom. Well done on your blog, it is so inciteful

Hello Imijin,

I love your blog and enthusiasm, you have made me excited about Stop Motion Studio in classes. I was able to use Stop Motion in our tutorials and I think you have explained features and linked multimedia to the app really well!

The post is also clearly well researched and i really liked how you linked the tool to NESA syllabus points. Maybe next time you could include some limitations, such as access to iPads as not all schools have technology resources.

Also just a heads up one of your paragraphs I think is accidentally chopped in half. 2nd paragraph down after your first photos.

Well Done!

Hi Imijin!

Great job on your blog post!

I really appreciated your succint assessment on Stop Motion Studio and how it can used in the classroom. In fact, it was almost too succint. I would've loved to read more examples in how it could be used, especially as Multimedia has great flexibility in terms of cross-curricular applications.

(Also your octopus really elevated your post!)
